Since most AP Human Geography students in Utah are 9th graders, the following issues should be considered before final adoption. 

Overall, the graphics in this text are very relevant, useful, and clear for discussion of the topics, and the photographs offer good examples of the concepts as well.  

There are numerous specific case studies to highlight issues.  Overall the content is covered adequately.  

In using this text with 9th graders, the teacher will need to provide a great deal of scaffolding and supplement much of the material in order to make it accessible to the students.  Chapter summaries are brief, and the vocabulary lists are not cross refereneced with page numbers.  Some topics are discussed without a great deal of direct identification (for example, there is discussion of the stages of the Demographic Transition Model, but the text doesn't directly identify the stages during the discussion). 

On pages 130-131, there are discussions of same-sex lifestyle that equates legal and social restrictions to Jim Crow laws. For Utah classrooms, care would need to be taken in addressing these topics with students.
